Make 2nds Count – the charity dedicated to Secondary Breast Cancer patients

Make 2nds Count is a cancer support charity that’s dedicated to raising awareness and research funding to improve the quality of life for Secondary Breast Cancer patients.

Based in Edinburgh, the charity’s primary focus is on supporting patients and their families living with incurable, secondary breast cancer also known as metastatic breast cancer. They do this through three clearly defined pillars of work: research, education and support.

What they do to support cancer patients and their families

To date, they have donated over £150,000 to the University of Edinburgh’s Cancer Research Centre and launched a variety of successful education campaigns to help raise awareness around Secondary Breast Cancer. The support they offer individuals and their families, however, is crucial. This ranges from their virtual Tea and Chat service and supportive Chemotherapy Boxes, to more than 25 Hardship Fund Grants issued at the start of the pandemic.
