Nails can be damaged during treatment for cancer
It has been one of those weeks. The highlight was a quick trip to Dublin, as is the way of my life, I was there for work but, oh, what a lovely time I had.
I’ve been in the office for most of the rest of the week – speaking to loads of lovely people and enjoying spending time with new team members Nikki and Simmy (as well as Miran who has been with us for ages but you might not have heard his name before now).
I don’t often answer the office phone (as I am next to useless when it comes to office processes) but I have been answering this week. Paige is inconvenienced and won’t be in for a while. I am the B team. Beware the B team – I love a chat, every time I answer the phone, I learn (my mantra, if I’m speaking I’m not learning). I enjoy hearing of the amazing work that is being done, asking and answering questions. The most common enquiry this week has been about the use of cooling gloves and slippers (medical devices that we used to offer from the site but no longer have listed).
If you have been on one of my FHT awareness courses or have attended an exhibition workshop/lecture you will have heard about cooling gloves and slippers and know of my determination to tell the world about them. Imagine my delight when we get calls asking about their usefulness and availability in the UK. It is such an honour to be able to share this specialist knowledge.
The latest course offering, a longer than usual session, covering 3 separate Post Graduate Oncology Diplomas (Oncology Massage, Lifting and Rejuvenating Facial, Balanced Body and Mind) was created as a result of a phone conversation. This course will be run only once, in London on 8-9 July. There are two contact days, you are required to complete an additional 3 days of guided learning, at a time to suit you. We will be closing the course soon so please get in touch if you would like to book a place.
In other news, I am going on holiday. ‘What again?’ I hear you say, ‘she was in Dublin this week’. All I can say is that the next trip is a holiday. I am not sure that I will have any internet connection (I will be up a very tall mountain). I can’t wait to be offline for a while – I am sure you feel the same way.
I will be here next week, thereafter, we might have a break for a couple of weeks…..unless……someone else wants a go? Does anyone want to say ‘hello’ and tell us about their oncology therapy work? I hear about the good that you do, I am not always so good at spreading the word. If you would like to step into the spotlight, please send your newsletter submissions to us and we will do the rest.
Sending inspiration
Jennifer
