My nails have become detached from the nail bed. What can I do?

You should protect your nails as much as you can. Others experiencing this suggest using a pencil to flush the loo (push button flush), wearing gloves as much as possible, especially whilst gardening, avoiding washing up and generally taking good care.

My nails are ridged. What can I do?

Sparkly nail varnish (Jennifer Young Nail Varnish – Autumn, Vamp, Ocean View, Cinders & Gladrags) distracts from the ridges. The sparkles change the way the light hits the nails and the ridges are not as apparent.

I have a dark nail bed. What can I do?

Dark and discoloured nail beds are not uncommon during treatment for cancer. Many people tell me it is a side-effect of chemotherapy. This condition can be camouflaged by using dark nail varnish.

My favourite dark nail varnishes to help disguise this side-effect of chemo are:

  • Autumn
  • Vamp
  • Poppy
  • Cinders
  • Fern
